Job description

Build Parts That Matter.

Every day at KMM Group, our machinists manufacture components used in medical devices, aerospace systems, defense technologies, space exploration programs, and other mission-critical applications.

The work is challenging. The tolerances are tight. The expectations are high.

And that's exactly why many of our machinists choose to stay.

We're seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist / Setup Operator to machine complex, tight-tolerance components for medical device, aerospace, defense, space, and high-tech manufacturing customers.

🔧What You’ll Do

CNC Setup & Machining

  • Set up and operate CNC vertical machining centers across 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis platforms

  • Machine high-precision aerospace, medical device, defense, and space-related components

  • Work with tight tolerances, complex features, detailed blueprints, and GD&T requirements

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, setup sheets, work instructions, and inspection plans

  • Set tool lengths, work offsets, fixtures, vises, rotary tables, and palletized setups

  • Make minor CNC program edits and optimize speeds, feeds, tooling, and cycle performance

  • Run and adjust jobs using Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Hurco, or similar CNC controls

  • Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages, height gages, optical comparators, CMM reports, and other precision measuring tools

  • Use inspection data to troubleshoot dimensional issues and keep parts in spec

  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, programming, and production teams to improve processes

  • Maintain clean, accurate documentation in a regulated manufacturing environment

  • Support continuous improvement, repeatability, and first-pass quality

Equipment You'll Work With

KMM’s machining environment includes advanced CNC milling and inspection equipment such as:

  • Mori Seiki DV5100 true 4-axis and 5-axis machining centers

  • Mori Seiki SV403 machining center with Fanuc control

  • Yasda YBM640V ultra-precision hard mill CNC jig bore

  • DMU 40 eVo linear with pallet system

  • Haas VF2SSYT true 5-axis machining centers

  • Haas UMC750SS true 5-axis machining center with pallet system

  • Hurco VM10, VM20, and VM42iXP machining centers

  • Renishaw tool setting and part probing systems

  • Mastercam, SolidWorks, and related CAD/CAM workflows

  • Zeiss CMM with CALYPSO software

  • OGP SmartScope, Keyence IM systems, laser micrometers, optical comparators, and precision gaging
